The Dune: Prophecy TV show has its debut trailer, teasing the events leading to the founding of the Bene Gesserit.

Dune: Prophecy, set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, is a six-episode season that debuts on Max this fall, Warner Bros. Discovery announced. It tells the origin story of the Bene Gesserit, the mysterious sisterhood who pull the galactic strings from the shadows in Frank Herbert’s influential sci-fi series.

Dune: Prophecy is inspired by the novel ‘Sisterhood of Dune,’ written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.

The release of Dune: Prophecy follows Denis Villeneuve’s two Dune movies, the most recent of which, Dune Part 2, released to enormous success earlier this year. Villeneuve is working on Dune Part 3 to close out Paul Atreides’ story. Dune: Part 2 makes its streaming debut on Max on Tuesday, May 21.

IGN’s Dune: Part 2 review returned an 8/10. We said: “Featuring absolutely staggering visuals, Dune: Part 2 is an arresting, transportive middle entry in Denis Villeneuve’s tricky sci-fi saga.”
