SMT: Strange Journey/Redux would be a great game to play, but personally, I would recommend the devil Survivor games, particularly Devil Survivor Overclocked. This title in particular is one of my most favorite games of all time. I know Chris said that he doesn’t want to play anything on the 3DS, but I do think they are fantastic games.
You know what’s odd? Arguably the strangest entry in the franchise, Shin Megami Tensei NINE for the original Xbox of all things seems to be the game where the 3D models for demons used in SMTIII and other subsequent MegaTen titles originated. Then again, maybe it just seems this way to my untrained eyes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xagrqmJAfUM
QOTW: I’m gonna say Strange Journey because Kelly said I’d get points if I said Strange Journey… and I like points 😋
Truth be told, I don’t have a horse in this race as I’ve never played an SMT game, I just responded because I wanted to be included… and get points. The closest I’ve ever come to the series was Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (which I lived), so I’ll defer to the expert… which is Kelly. Do as they say.
I played SMT IV Apocalypse just last year and absolutely loved it, so there’s that… But let’s be honest, Chris may as well wait for SMT V – it’s really not that far away!
