Jaguar Wright was taken into police custody in Dallas on Thursday morning (June 6). According to the Dallas County jail website, the singer, whose legal name is Jacquelyn Wright, was arrested for property theft between $30,000 and $150,000. A $10,000 bond was posted early Friday morning.

Per The Jasmine Brand, the Sean Davie Way YouTube channel claims Wright had an outstanding warrant after allegedly renting a U-Haul truck and not returning it. She allegedly called into the platform claiming there was “no charge” to arrest her.

“Whatever they’re saying it is, it’s not. They can’t hold me, there’s no charge,” the 47-year-old exclaimed. She also claimed the arrest was an attempt to silence an interview, as her public appearances in recent months have come with accusations of shocking, sometimes inappropriate behavior from some of the music industry’s top names.

The subjects of her most recent unsubstantiated stories include Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Justin Bieber, and Odell Beckham Jr., the blog details. Her allegations include sexual encounters and other unsuitable behaviors.

According to HipHopDX, in 2020, Wright accused Common of a past sexual assault, claiming the rapper attempted to “stick his d**k” in her mouth. The Chicago emcee denied the alleged encounter, explaining, “God bless, Jaguar.”

He added, “I really don’t have any negative thoughts towards her. I was for sure disappointed and hurt when she said what she said about me because it wasn’t true. I know people that have experienced sexual assault and that’s not anything to just say if it’s not true.”

In 2023, Black Enterprise reported Wright was arrested following a violent domestic dispute. Wright’s husband claims the Philadelphia native and a friend named Solar drunkenly assaulted him, alleging she threw their son’s ashes out of a car window.
