Gucci Mane’s New 1017 Records: Where Are They Now?

The New 1017 Records isn’t new to this, despite the signifier in its name. In fact, the record label was initially known as 1017 Brick Squad and was founded in 2007 by Gucci Mane. The roster famously included and jumpstarted the mainstream careers of Waka Flocka Flame and OJ Da Juiceman, among other artists. Gucci’s record label, whose numerical identity pays homage to the rapper’s grandfather’s house address in Georgia, underwent several name changes over the years, going by the likes of So Icey Entertainment, 1017 Eskimo, and 1017 Global Music, LLC.

Then, in 2020, the rapper rebranded his record label to reflect the newest generation of trappers, rappers, and everything in between. This iteration of the record label brought forth promising new talent, including Pooh Sheisty, Big Scarr, Foogiano, Hotboy Wes, K Shiday, Hoodrich Pablo Juan, and Roboy. However, things haven’t quite panned out the way Gucci and his artists have hoped.

Unfortunately, all artists originally signed to The New 1017 have been dropped from the label, sent to prison, passed away. In just four years, artists on Gucci’s record label have suffered immense hardship. Here are their stories.
