It’s been over a year since Tank released his “final” album, R&B Money, but the R&B General is back.

Late last week, he announced his new single, “Remember Me,” was coming. “Monday.. Get the f**k out the way!,” he wrote on Instagram. Right on schedule, the new “not for sale” single came by way of a new visual.

As soon as you hear the opening piano chords, it’s clear that Tank made an R&B version of “Dreams And Nightmares.” Dressed like Jodeci in the “Cry For You” music video — complete with a sleeveless leather vest and singing in the desert — Tank is also making sure beggin’ R&B is alive and well.

Director Tiki noted, “When Tank tells you he wants a mic hanging from the heavens you find a way to make it happen.”

On “Remember Me,” he sings, “They say nice guys always finish last/ But girls like you only see the bad/ This time you mighta moved too fast/ Look at you now.”

Tank continues to assert himself as top dog as he later sings, “I was tryna live/ You was tryna survive/ You was just finessin’ for the ride/ I was just respectable/ You told me I was weak/ Kept you manicured, so you would look good on your feet/ I was there for you but you was really for the streets/ When you finally get what you deserve, you gon’ remember me.”

“Heard you on the phone/ Talkin’ to your girls/ Saying he’s so whipped/ He’d give me the world/ Then you trick and hit your lick/ left me in December/ You a cold little—,” he barked on the second verse before breaking the fourth wall by staring into the camera.

Fans and friends all reacted to the intense ballad in the comments. Tyrese quipped, “Tank’s got too much money…. He hired God to hold his mic for his video…. Where was the mic hanging from bro? I’m tired you not doing this to me today…… #VocalKing this song is baaaaaarrrzzzz PAC vest on talking that shiiiiiittttttt. Get the ass T!!!!!!!!”

Tank’s wife, Zena Foster, wrote, “You only get better and better. This song is [fire] and you are FINE AF.”

His trainer, John Gaines, replied, “Drop the song fam, I need this in the whip asap!!!” A fan also chimed in, writing, “They say it ain’t real RnB if you ain’t singing in the desert with a leather vest on! Cmon Durrell!!”
