In a heartwarming tale of determination and resilience, 18-year-old Atul Kumar from Titora village in Muzaffarnagar has turned his dreams into reality despite facing significant hardships. After successfully cracking the JEE Advanced Exam on May 26, 2024, Atul secured admission to the prestigious IIT Dhanbad. However, his family’s financial situation made it impossible to pay the required ₹17,500 fee on time.
Atul’s father, a daily wage laborer, has always strived to provide for his family, but despite their best efforts, they could not gather the necessary funds before the deadline. The community rallied to support Atul, pooling resources to help him, yet their efforts still fell short. With his dreams of becoming an engineer hanging by a thread, Atul found himself on the verge of giving up hope.
In a stroke of encouragement, a senior from his coaching center suggested an unconventional route: approaching the courts for assistance. This advice turned out to be pivotal. The Supreme Court recognised Atul’s hard work and extraordinary potential, directing IIT Dhanbad to admit him to the electrical engineering course despite the financial constraints.
The joyous news brought overwhelming relief and happiness to Atul’s family. His parents expressed immense gratitude to the Supreme Court and all those who rallied behind them during their time of need. With one son already studying at IIT Kharagpur and another at NIT Hamirpur, Atul’s journey has become yet another inspiring success story within the family.
Thanks to this landmark judgement, Atul is ready to begin his journey at IIT Dhanbad proving that no obstacle is too big when hard work meets opportunity.
